Christians in the Visual Arts is proud to offer SILVER: CODEX VI a suite of original prints that celebrates CIVA’s Silver Anniversary with twenty-five prints by twenty-five artists. Each artist responded to a work in the collection of the National Gallery of Art, Washington, D.C. The range of images in SILVER, in combination with the variety of printmaking techniques, demonstrates that CIVA artists are not only rooted in the past but are also looking forward to the future. The sixth portfolio in the Codex CIVA series, SILVER was produced in an edition of sixty, and is the latest offering of CIVA Editions. Published in 2005, this stunning suite is housed in a handmade portfolio box especially constructed to fit the 25 prints. A handsome, full color book accompanies the prints along with a Title Page, Table of Contents and Colophon.

The Codex CIVA series was begun in 1994 by James D. Stambaugh, then Director of the Billy Graham Center Museum, Wheaton, IL. It has continued as a showcase for CIVA artists working in multiple originals who have generously donated their art in order to make the ongoing project possible. The SILVER Portfolio project was organized by Edward Knippers.

A limited number of portfolios are for sale to the public for $2,500. One suite has been set aside for the sale of individual prints, priced at $400 per print.



The previous portfolio, Codex V, includes thirteen original 11" x 14" intaglio prints in an edition of 50, boxed in an archival portfolio case with an informational booklet. The portfolio sells for $500. A limited number of individual prints will be available for $75.00 each.

The traveling exhibition includes 27 framed intaglio prints, with one print from each of the artists, and a working proof of each piece at an earlier state in the development of the work. An accompanying informational exhibition binder contains a statement and short biography of each artist. The show is crated, includes identification labels, and is easily installed in most gallery spaces. This is a very handsome show for a small gallery or church setting.
