Judson University seeks an individual to guide and direct the new School of Art, Design and Architecture as its first Dean. The Dean of the School of Art, Design and Architecture, under direction from the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, provides academic leadership to the rapidly growing programs in Fine Art, Visual Communication, Interior Design and Architecture. Duties include handling day to day business of the School; balancing faculty loads; hiring and administration of adjuncts and other personnel; proposing and developing program growth and expansion; preparing and overseeing the School’s budget; and providing leadership for the School.

The successful candidate will hold a Master of Fine Arts in Graphic Design or Related Field. The candidate should be a practicing artist with a willingness to become an integral member of a small, intense program that promotes relationship-based instruction. Candidates who can demonstrate a synthesis of media scholarship with graphic and interactive design-oriented practice are preferred. The Department of Art at Gordon College in Wenham, MA, is seeking an Assistant or Associate Professor of Art History. Successful candidates will hold the Ph.D. Degree in Art History and have a record of scholarly and creative achievement. This position is a tenure-track position to begin August 2008.

This juried show brings together visual artists, filmmakers and performing artists from around the world to Los Angeles, California to showcase their work. The art presented ranges from all types of visual art and sculpture to graphic design, photography, short story readings, spoken word, dance, theater, short films and much more. The last five shows were very successful with both veteran and emerging artists from around the world participating. Many of the alumni artists have shown at the Getty Museum, the Kennedy Center, and we’ve even had a White House commissioned artist in the show!
Submissions will be accepted from April 6 until June 30, 2009. The show is October 2, 2009 in Los Angeles, California.

The local Exhibit Director will have primary responsibility for working the "Let There be Light" Executive Director in his/her local city. Local facilitator must be familiar with and well respected within the art community in his/her local city. He/she must be enthusiastically supportive of the goals and objectives of the exhibit. Must demonstrate ability to work well with a variety of people, including the contributing artists and the local network of people needed to work with the exhibit. Must have a basic working knowledge of many of the elements and language associated with art and art forms. The individual must adhere to the tenants of the statement of Biblical faith of the Masterpiece Christian Fine Art Foundation. Must demonstrate in life and conduct a vital and viable relationship with God through Jesus Christ. Commitment may be up to 6 months. Exhibit will be on display approximately 6 - 8 weeks.
The responsibilities of the local facilitator would include but not be limited to the following:
-Reports directly to the exhibit director
-Will be present on location during daily hours the exhibit will be open
-Works with director to determine location for local exhibit
-Recruits 12 or more local volunteers to help with local exhibit and help with the logistics of its goals and objectives.
-Helps to generate local donations
Sets up one or more local benefits prior to the exhibit coming to city
-Helps director determine and carryout local advertising strategy and contacts. This would include newspapers, art periodicals, churches, schools, art associations, Christian and local radio
-Helps to recruit qualified local musicians for opening and Friday and Saturday evenings while the exhibit is in their city.
-Works with director to establish a budget for exhibit in his/her own city
-Submits local accounting/expense information to Exhibit Director
-Responsible for local merchandise sales associated with exhibit
-Arranges for local reputable photographer
-Helps director find local housing while in town

Dordt College Visual Arts Faculty: Teach graphic design and animation, work with InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and After Effects; other assignments based on training and experience, such as internship supervision or photography.
