The SILVER Portfolio celebrates CIVA’s Silver anniversary with 25 prints by 25 artists. Each artists created a response to a work in the collection of the National Gallery of Art, Washington, DC. The range of images in the SILVER Portfolio and the range of printmaking techniques show that CIVA artists are not only rooted in the past but are looking toward the future. The Portfolio, published in 2004, is in an edition of 60.

SILVER is the sixth portfolio in the Codex CIVA series. In 1994 James D. Stambaugh, then Director of the Billy Graham Center Museum, Wheaton, IL began the Codex CIVA Series. It has continued as a showcase for CIVA artists working in multiple originals who have generously donated their art in order to make the ongoing project possible.

The SILVER Portfolio contributing artists are: Sandra Bowden, Katherine Brimberry, Tanja Butler, Guy Chase, Tyrus R. Clutter, Fred Folsom, Donald Forsythe, Wayne Lacson Forte, Leah Renée Gregoire, Makoto Fujimura, Bruce Herman, Kathy Tolsma Hettinga, Tim High, Doug Jaques, George Langbroek, Edward Knippers, Scott Kolbo, Jonathan Millet, Margaret Adams Parker, Joel C. Sheesley, Timothy P. Sheesley, Chris Stoffel Overvoorde, SASSANDRA Jacques Richard, Sarah Sears, and Tim van Laar.

A limited number of portfolios are for sale to the public for $2,500. One suite has been see aside for sale of individual prints at a price of $400 each.

Included in the traveling show are 25 prints, framed to 25” x 31,” and a framed Title Page, Table of Contents, and Colophon. A CD including signage, artist statements, information on each work in the show, and a file for a handout that can be modified by the gallery with its name and contact information, will accompany the exhibition.
